Dr. med. vet. Christian Zenner

I became interested in animal sciences when I trained as a lab technician from 2007-2010. In 2011, I started studying Veterinary Medicine at LMU Munich, followed by a PhD thesis, which I completed in 2020.
During my PhD at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, I gained knowledge of anaerobic cultivation, 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing, taxonomic and functional description of novel taxa using genomics, and the evaluation of host immune parameters using RNAseq.
I joined the Hall lab at TUM as a post-doc in 2021, acting as a link between human and animal microbiome research.
